Clover Tuck Completes Internship with What’s in Your Juice. Steph Wood
Tuck designed a t-shirt expressing Love is God
May 3, 2021 – High School student Clover Tuck has recently completed an internship with What’s in Your Juice and Brand Manager Steph Wood. Wood has spent the past two decades building and managing brands and businesses for athletes, visionaries, and entrepreneurs. She has built over 50 companies since 2013, securing over six million dollars in grant funds and over $60,000 in business plan awards for her clients over the course of her career. The internship is the first offered by Steph Wood and was inspired by Tuck.
Wood met Tuck while giving a talk to the softball team at Matanzas High School. After the talk, Tuck approached Wood. Wood was so impressed, she created the internship and mentorship, which will be the first of many.
“There is so much inside each of us. We all have these beautiful abilities and gifts, each one working together, spun, and blended together. When we tap into them, each, one by one or together in groups, we truly get closer to the fullness God intended for us all,” Wood said. “We all desire and deserve others to validate and cosign on our abilities. It can be damaging when we don’t receive or provide words that speak light into people and their gifts.”
Tuck plays softball as a catcher and first baseman. “I love my sport because it is my escape from all my problems, and once I step foot on a field, all my worries go away, and I can focus on what I am good at and my team,” Tuck said.
“Steph and I met through Head Coach Sabrina Manhart of Matanzas High School Softball. She came in to give a talk to the team and me. Her talk was so inspirational and moving that I had to talk to her afterward,” Tuck said. “I had been going through a lot emotionally, and everything she said that day about mountains and valleys touched my heart. She helped me through a lot in those few brief moments of meeting for the first time and is by far the best motivational speaker I’ve ever encountered.”
Tuck took to heart the lesson Wood presented about being born into a valley and climbing her way out as she got older. Tuck, who has a strong faith in God, prayed about the message that night. The next day, Tuck got a text from Wood. Knowing Tuck was an artist, Wood suggested Tuck design a t-shirt for her merchandise, and the internship was born.
“I was reading Mere Christianity and in his book, the author, C.S. Lewis points out that most people will say that God is Love,” Wood said. “but that actually, love is God, and how every inkling of love should be treated with a greater amount of respect . I knew I wanted to have a reflection of that sentiment with the design.”
For the internship, Tuck was tasked with coming up with three designs for Love is God products, then working together with Wood and her team to perfect and finalize the design.
“The whole point of the internship was to tap into her gifts. Clover learned the process well and worked amazingly with the team. I was just so impressed by her. I think she taught me as much as I taught her,” Wood said.
“I have come so far over the last couple of months. It has been crazy. We have done some amazing things here and hopefully will do more. I thank Steph every time we talk, but that simple “thank you” or “sounds good” has so much more behind it. She has opened up a whole new world for me, and I cannot thank her enough,” Tuck said.
Tuck had the opportunity to join others in the product photo shoot shot by New Smyrna Beach photographer, Tavana Mercado. Tuck will also earn lifetime royalties for every t-shirt sale to put towards her college education and beyond.
“Clover exceeded all my expectations,” Wood said. “I know she has the juice and has big things ahead of her in life.”
“I learned that there are many opportunities out there for me in the world. I just have to be patient. I also learned that I am capable of a lot of things and trades. I had done some designing in the past for my father, who owns a charity, but this was the first big design that I did professionally. With the help of Steph, I have been able to learn that I not only love designing, but I am good at it,” Tuck said. “I will be using what I learned in the future and going forward by going to college and getting a degree in graphic design and business. I want to continue using my talents and be successful with them.”
